Volunteer for the SCF

The Shanghai Volunteer Association Charity Service Corps (The Charity Service Corps) was established in January 2005 by the Shanghai Charity Foundation (SCF) and is a member of the Shanghai Volunteer Association. It is lead, managed, and coordinated by the SCF and welcomes enthusiastic, outgoing volunteers who would like to make a contribution to society.

It embraces both long-term and short-term volunteers.

The objective of the Charity Service Corps is to meet the needs of Shanghai’s underprivileged citizens and help them lead healthy, productive lives. As the cause of philanthropy has grown and developed in China, the number of people who have contributed their time and effort to helping others has exploded.

Over the years, a number of projects have been established with their help. Their contributions have contributed to the success of a number of the SCF’s most famous programs, including the Loving Care Lunch program and the Charitable Medical Card project.

A number of professionals also make certain programs possible. For example, the Medical Volunteer Corps organizes groups of medical and health experts help the underprivileged receive medical care and the Cultural and Art Corps organizes famous artists to work with senior citizens and disabled children.

Teachers and professors also make great contributions to helping the SCF communicate with Shanghai’s international community and members of Shanghai’s international community have also been very supportive of a wide range of charitable projects.

The Charity Service Corps operates branches in every district in Shanghai where they are managed by the SCF’s different branch offices. Most volunteer activities are arranged at the district level.

Professional Corps, however, such as medical teams, education and training corps, artistic and cultural organizations, logistics teams and international communication experts are organized by the Headquarters of the SCF.
