 Donate Through Your Mobile PhoneSMS DonationsThe Shanghai Charity Foundation has introduced a new service that will let mobile phone users donate to charity by using the short messaging service on their phones. For China Mobile users who are too busy to find a donation box or visit the Foundation, they need only sent a short text message with the amount that they would like to donate to 04343. Donations will be automatically transferred to the charity foundation and proof of donations will be printed on the user’s phone bill for tax deduction purposes. In addition to one-time donations, users can also set a fixed amount to be donated every month by adding a zero before the amount they would like to donate. For example, if someone would like to donate 30 yuan every month, they can simply send a message that says, “030”. A maximum monthly donation of 50 yuan per month has been added to prevent fraud.
