The Shanghai Charity Foundation’s Charitable Projects

Relieving Those In-Need on Two Islands

The Hengsha and Changxing Islands are located just outside of Shanghai, near the mouth of the Yangtze River. In contrast to Shanghai’s rapid urban development, the islands have struggled to keep pace with China’s burgeoning economy. Many basic facilities on the island are in need of serious repair and upkeep.

To help them, the Shanghai Charity Foundation has established the Relieving Those In-Need on Two Islands program. The program is a series of comprehensive charitable projects covering a range of issues. They include: The Senior Citizen Home on Hengsha Island, Supporting Education in Hengsha Village, Medical Equipment for the Hengsha Village Healthcare Center, and Supporting Ping’an Primary School in Changxing Village.
