Education Center

The Shanghai Charity Foundation (SCF) places a great importance on education as a potential solution to many of the issues facing the disadvantaged in Shanghai. In order to stress this importance, the SCF has organized a number of projects to specifically help students-in-need, and has also established, with the cooperation of the Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, the Shanghai Charitable Education Training Center (SCETC) in 1995.

The SCETC aims to provide free, charitable education to the unemployed, the underprivileged, and the handicapped in China to help them enhance their ability to find employment and live a better life. Since its establishment, the SCETC has established 19 training centers and 30 different educational projects. To date, the SCETC has allocated nearly 20 million yuan to provide over 53,000 people with training courses. Over 50% of the attendees found new employment after completing their studies.
